Loupa · Clinical evaluation & partnerships
Help evaluate what better patient preparation can achieve.
Loupa is a functioning, clinician-founded digital health platform. We are seeking clinical, research and health-system partners to shape its next stage: structured evaluation.
An initial 20–30 minute conversation is enough to begin.
The clinical question
Does a more useful information pathway make a meaningful difference?
Patients often revisit treatment information and develop questions between appointments. Loupa brings structured information, practical preparation and patient questions into a pathway that remains available throughout care.
The next questions are clinical and organisational: how patients use it, whether it improves preparation and understanding, how it fits into clinical workflows, and what evidence would justify wider adoption.
What exists today
A working platform to evaluate.
Loupa has working patient pathways with clinical information, preparation and recovery guidance, and tools to help patients identify priorities and save questions for discussion.
General surgery
Live Compass Surgical examples covering hernia, gallbladder and lumps and bumps care.

The product page also demonstrates a MacMurray gastroscopy pathway.
View product examples →Clinical governance
Service-level clinical ownership, content review and the boundaries between patient preparation and clinical care.
Read the governance approach →Live pathways demonstrate functionality. They are not presented as proof of improved understanding, better consent or improved clinical outcomes. Any wider evaluation would need an agreed protocol and appropriate approvals.
What needs evaluating
Patient benefit and practical implementation.
Understanding and preparedness
Whether patients understand key information and feel prepared for their consultation, procedure and recovery.
Participation and communication
Whether patients identify and discuss questions, concerns and priorities that matter to their care.
Accessibility and equity
How the approach works for patients with different language, literacy, access and support needs, including the role of whānau.
Clinical workflow and feasibility
How pathways fit into existing care, their demands on staff, and the conditions needed for reliable implementation.
These are proposed evaluation questions, not reported results. Measures, comparison groups and study design should be developed with patients, clinicians and research partners. Engagement analytics would be supporting data, not a substitute for assessing patient outcomes.
The collaboration sought
Bring the right expertise into the next stage.
- Research and evaluation: refine questions, measures and a proportionate study design.
- Patients and whānau: help shape what should be assessed and how participation should work.
- Clinical services: identify suitable care pathways and potential evaluation settings.
- Implementation and health-system expertise: examine workflow, governance and the evidence needed for wider adoption.
- Innovation and funding connections: advise on appropriate support for a well-defined evaluation programme.
We welcome exploratory discussions. Partnership scope, evaluation settings and funding would be agreed through those discussions.
